The Office of Agricultural Economics Region 5 participated in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Provincial World Soil Day event on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM, held at the Land Development Station, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Mrs. Sujaree Phicha, Director of the Office of Agricultural Economics Region 5, assigned
Ms. Sariyaporn Thananan, Senior Policy and Planning Analyst, along with Ms. Marisa Nitmai, Economist, to attend the ceremony. The event, themed "Caring for Soils: Measure, Monitor, Manage – Ensuring Sustainable Soil Quality," was presided over by
Mr. Winyu Samienram, Director of the Nakhon Ratchasima Land Development Station.

The purpose of the event was to honor the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej's royal contributions to soil resource development for agriculture and to raise awareness about World Soil Day. The ceremony emphasized the importance of soil for food production and environmental sustainability. The exhibition featured various learning stations, including composting and bio-liquid fertilizer stations, the PD 13 station, soil erosion management with terrace farming, a soil analysis open house, exhibitions from government and private organizations, and a visit to the Nakhon Chai Burin Soil Museum.
