Center of Agricultural Information have an assignment to the Division of Geo-Informatics (GI) on oil palm field

     Center of Agricultural Information have an assignment to the Division of Geo-Informatics (GI) on oil palm field survey during 11th – 15th March 2024. The main objectives of survey is collecting the oil palm coordinates with 50 sample plots for oil palm 2024 classification with satellite imageries. The area of field area survey is Ratchaburi province, which are responsibility by ROAE 10. Additionally, the GI staff have been interviewed farmers to gain the information on oil palm planting and production situations. The majority areas are still planting oil palm; however, there are abandon oil palm in some areas. The oil palm age is between 10 – 25 years. The oil palm’s harvesting is usually every 15 days; then, farmers trimming oil palm leaves after harvesting. Normally, farmers added fertilizer in 16-0-0 and 26-0-0 formula. Oil palm production is directly transport to lawns at Suan Phueng municipality, which are distance around 20-26 kilometer. The oil palm’s selling price in March 2024 is 5.20 Baht/kilogram. In this year, these oil palm areas facing droughts and impacts on oil palm production. Consequently, the oil palm production is forecast to reduce in this year.
