Center of Agricultural Information have an assignment to the Division of Geo-Informatics (GI) on the activity “data harmonization between Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE) and Land Development Department” under the project of applying GI for enhance agricultural production in 2024. The commodity is defined in oil palm 2024. The field survey is located in Phetchabun, Phitsanulok, and Kamphaeng Phet and operated during 28 March – 6 April 2024.     The tasks are setting for oil palm coordinates collection (64 sample plots) for spatial data harmonization classification with moderate satellite imageries. The main objectives are collecting oil palm coordinates and updating the oil palm 2024 spatial data, which are important information for agricultural policy planning and management.
The results of field survey indicated the overlaps between two data sources (e.g., LDD and OAE) and majority of sample plots were oil palm areas. However, some areas found the shitting to plant other crops due to elder oil palm and severe droughts. Drought events are the main causes on non-bearing oil palm fruits. Consequently, farmers tend to plant upland crops which are less water consumption such as cassava and maize, instead. Oil palm ages are ranged between 3 – 15 years old. Additionally, the ratio between the largest differences on spatial data interpretation proves in ages during 3 -6-year. Obviously, farmers harvested their production every 15 – 18 days and transport to nearby markets or local cooperatives. Oil palm’s production is around 3.50 – 4 Baht/kilogram.
