Director of ROAE2 joins the field visit to follow the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives to distribute relief bags to flood victims in Phrae Province
On Saturday, August 24, 2024, Ms. Thanphicha Theeraratchanon, Director of Office of Agricultural Economics Region 2 (Director of ROAE2 Phitsanulok), along with Ms. Panrada Thareun, Policy and Plan Analyst, joined the field visit to follow the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives (Colonel Thammanat Prompao) to visit and encourage flood victims in Phrae Province to distribute relief bags, rice, dry food, and drinking water. The field visit was at Song District Office, Phrae Province.
The Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives has issued the following instructions:
1. The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, through the Department of Agricultural Extension, the Department of Livestock Development, and the Department of Fisheries, urgently survey the damage to crops, livestock, and fisheries to provide assistance to farmers affected by the disaster as soon as possible.
2. The Department of Land Development inspects damaged agricultural areas. and adjust the rice fields for farmers to continue farming
3. The Rice Department supports rice seeds for farmers to start a new crop
After that, traveled to listen to the Yom River situation at Mae Yom Weir from the Royal Irrigation Department. It was learned that the water volume of 1,350 cubic meters/second flows through Mueang Phrae District, Den Chai District, Wang Chin District, Phrae Province and will flow into Sukhothai Province. The water will be managed through the Yom-Nan Irrigation Project to reduce the water mass by approximately 450 cubic meters/second before reaching the Saphan Chan Watergate so that only 900 cubic meters of water flows through Sawankhalok District, Si Satchanalai District and Mueang Sukhothai District. It is expected that the water will peak at noon tomorrow (Sunday, August 25, 67).
